Gemma had a gap between her front teeth which had bothered her for several years. She had recently been made redundant and decided to use some of her payment to fix the problem after reading online our same day service we offer for porcelain veneers.

Gemma had chipped her front teeth when she was young and this was made worse when she developed the gap between her front teeth.
Her regular dentist had provided her with some porcelain veneers but she wasn’t happy with the result. Her two front teeth looked much bigger than adjacent teeth and there was a persistent and considerable space.
After a consultation with Dr Murphy, Gemma refused to accept a large space and declined orthodontic treatment to close it.
It was decided that a diagnostic wax-up might show Gemma the results if we provided minimal prep veneers on four additional teeth. A diagnostic wax-up is a dental technique where we create a wax model of a patient’s teeth based on impressions and visualising the potential outcome of a proposed treatment. A course of tooth whitening would brighten the lower teeth and upper premolars.

From the photographs, we can see that very little adjustments have been made to the lateral incisors and canines. But when the old porcelain veneers were removed we discovered the central incisors had been prepared more aggressively by Gemma’s original dentist.
Same Day Veneers Procedure
The big day came round and our ceramist joined the team for the initial 8am appointment to match the porcelain shades with her existing teeth. Gemma’s new veneers were fitted at 5pm later in the day.

In advancing the lateral incisors and canines towards the front teeth, it was possible to close the space between the front teeth without making them too much wider.
This made the additional four teeth comparatively larger, aided by reducing the length of the ‘centrals’ slightly.
Gemma was delighted with the final result and now returns to Appletree for her regular dental care.
Treatment cost – £2433 including X-rays.
